Taiji Health Center Delegation to Lyon, France for Academic Exchange

Recently, Li Jie, Director of Shanghai Qigong Research Institute, Xiao Bin, Director of Qigong Teaching and Research Section, and Zhang Wei, Associate Professor of International Communication College of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formed a Taiji health delegation to Lyon, France, for academic exchanges.

During the stay in France, the delegation was invited to attend the 3rd Sino-French Les  Confluences Health Forum. Chinese Ambassador to France Mr. Lu Shaye addressed the opening ceremony of the Forum. At this forum, Mr. Gérard Collomb, Mayor of Lyon, presented the first 'Courant Award' to Director Li Jie, and only three people won this year. The award is intended to recognize those who have made special contributions to the promotion of cooperation and exchanges  exchanges between between Chinese and Forensic Medicine and the Medical Humanities Summer School.

Subsequently, the delegation met with the Vice-President of the University of Lyon, Ms. Anne Giroir-Fendler, and the President of the Medical College, Mr. Gilles Rode, to discuss the issues of TCM teaching and training in the two universities and the work of Taiji Health Center.

Professor Li Jie was invited to give an academic lecture entitled 'The Characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Its Value in Contemporary Health' to more than 80 medical students at the Medical College of Lyon University. Professor Xiao Bin taught students 'Three-Line Fang Song Gong' and 'Moyun Taiji Gong'. This course has been incorporated into the curriculum system as one of the optional courses of 'Stress Management' for medical students. At the Red Cross Hospital affiliated to the University of Lyon, the delegation conducted exchanges and Qigong training with more than 20 patients and psychologists, rehabilitation teachers and local Qigong teachers. During the stay in France, the French-Chinese Dictionary of Common Terminology of Qigong in Traditional Chinese Medicine was published simultaneously.

The trip has played a positive role in expanding the visibility of our university overseas, popularizing Taiji Qigong overseas and entering the teaching system of Medical College of traditional Chinese medicine. (Shanghai Qigong Research Institute)



Taiji Health Center Delegation to WHO to Report Work Progress


On September 25, a Taiji Health Delegation composed of Li Jie, Director of Shanghai Qigong Research Institute, Xiao Bin, Director of Qigong Teaching and Research Section, and Zhang Wei, Associate Professor of International Communication College of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, went to Geneva, Switzerland to report to Director Zhang Qi, Department of Traditional Medicine, Supplementary Medicine and Integrated Medicine of the World Health Organization on the work of Taiji Health Center since its first overseas branch was established in 2018, as well as the cooperation and exchanges with Spain, France, Japan, Switzerland and other countries and the next development ideas. Director Zhang Qi fully affirmed the work of the Center and put forward the direction of its future development. (Shanghai Qigong Research Institute)
